Devices
Edge devices with Civimatica AI running on them.
Civimatica devices are the physical layer of the stack: edge hardware with our models already running on it. You place them on site; they measure the street and process locally; you receive the useful outputs through the API.
This is not a cloud-only setup — inference happens on the device. Only processed results leave it.
What a device does
- Measures street activity at the edge: occupancy, movement, surface conditions.
- Runs our models locally, so results are produced even when connectivity drops.
- Reports structured outputs — state, conditions, events — to the API. It does not send raw camera feeds.
Provisioning
Devices are provisioned to your organisation before placement. Each device gets:
- a
dev_...ID, - an assigned corridor (
crd_...), - a model version pinned at provisioning and updated over the air.

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
provisioning | Registered, not yet reporting |
active | Measuring and reporting |
offline | Not reachable; last outputs retained |
retired | Decommissioned; outputs retained |
last_seen_at tells you when a device last reported. model_version is the
model release running on it, e.g. 2026.09.
Example
Devices along a corridor send live parking and flow results to your operations room — the ops team sees the same street state the API returns, without standing up any sensing infrastructure.
