Sandbox
Test your own models against real street state before the real world.
The sandbox is a safe test space filled with processed street data from our models. You run your own models against it, see how they behave, fix problems early, and move to the real world with more confidence.
What flows through the sandbox
Street state produced by our models, already processed for testing:
- occupancy — free and occupied spaces over time
- flow — vehicle and pedestrian movement rates
- movement classes — vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, heavy vehicles
- related urban conditions on measured corridors
You get the data as structured objects matching the production data model, so code written against the sandbox ports directly to live corridors.
How to use it
-
Request a
cv_test_key — it is scoped to sandbox datasets and test corridors only. -
List available datasets:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer cv_test_..." \ "https://api.civimatica.com/v1/sandbox/datasets" -
Pull a dataset and run your model against it. Datasets are sequences of street-state observations in
jsonl, so you can replay a corridor hour by hour. -
Compare your model's output against the state our models produced for the same segments.
Example
A robotics team replays an evening rush dataset through its navigation model before putting a robot outside — checking how it reads kerb occupancy, parked vehicles, and pedestrian flow on a real corridor.
Limits
Sandbox data is processed street state, not imagery. It is free to use for evaluation; do not redistribute datasets outside your organisation.
